Understanding Your Eyeglass Warranty at Fantastic Glasses

Buying new eyeglasses is an investment in your vision and overall well-being. It’s natural to want peace of mind knowing your purchase is protected. At Fantastic Glasses, we believe in providing quality eyewear and standing behind our products. Here’s a detailed look at the warranty coverage offered on our frames and lenses, what the claims process looks like, and the key terms and conditions you should be aware of.

What Does the Warranty Cover?

We offer two main types of warranty coverage:

Lifetime Adjustments: This is a cornerstone of our commitment to customer satisfaction. We provide free* adjustments to your eyewear for as long as you own it. Frames naturally require occasional tweaking to ensure a comfortable and secure fit, and we’re happy to help, regardless of how long ago you purchased your glasses. This applies to adjustments for fit – tightening screws, adjusting nose pads, and ensuring the frames sit correctly on your face.
  • One-Year Lens Coating Warranty: All lenses purchased at Fantastic Glasses come with a one-year warranty covering the durability of their coatings. This includes protection against defects in anti-reflective (AR) coatings and scratch-resistant coatings. This means that if a coating fails due to a manufacturing defect within the first year, we will replace the lenses at no cost to you.
Important Note about the 3-for-1 Deal: The fantastic value of our 3-for-1 deal doesn't diminish our warranty commitment. Each pair within the 3-for-1 purchase is covered by the same warranty terms as individual purchases.

What Isn’t Covered?

While our warranties are comprehensive, certain situations are not covered. This is standard practice in the optical industry, and transparency is important to us. Here's what's typically excluded:

Physical Damage to Frames: Our warranty does not* cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, or normal wear and tear. This includes, but isn’t limited to, bending, breaking, or crushing of the frames. Scratches to Lenses (Outside of Coating Failure): While we offer a warranty on the coating* resisting scratches, minor scratches from everyday use are considered normal wear and tear and aren't covered. The coating warranty applies only if the coating itself deteriorates and fails to function as intended.
  • Damage from Improper Cleaning: Using improper cleaning solutions or abrasive cloths can damage lenses and frames.
  • Lost or Stolen Eyeglasses: Warranties do not cover loss or theft.
  • Prescription Changes: If your vision changes and you require a new prescription, this is not covered under warranty.
  • Damage due to extreme temperatures or chemicals.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

The claims process is designed to be simple and straightforward:

  1. Visit Our Okotoks Location: Since we’re located in Okotoks, the easiest way to initiate a claim is to bring your eyeglasses to our store. For customers coming from Calgary, especially neighbourhoods like Shawnessy, Cranston, and McKenzie Towne, we’re typically just a 10-15 minute drive south.
  2. Present Proof of Purchase: Please bring your original receipt or any other documentation confirming your purchase from Fantastic Glasses.
  3. Assessment: Our qualified opticians will assess the issue to determine if it falls under the terms of the warranty.
  4. Resolution: If the claim is approved:

* Adjustments: Adjustments will be performed immediately, free of charge.

* Lens Replacement (Coating Warranty): We will process a replacement for the lenses covered under the one-year coating warranty. The turnaround time for new lenses is typically within 7-10 business days, depending on the complexity of your prescription and lens type.

Important Terms and Conditions

  • Warranty is Non-Transferable: The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser of the eyeglasses.
  • Warranty Void if Altered: Any modifications or repairs made by a third party will void the warranty.
  • Manufacturing Defects Only: The lens coating warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship, not cosmetic blemishes or minor imperfections that don't affect functionality.
  • Regular Eye Exams are Recommended: Maintaining regular eye exams is essential for ensuring your prescription is up-to-date and your vision is properly corrected. This isn’t directly related to the warranty, but contributes to overall eye health and ensures you're getting the most out of your new glasses.

We strive to provide clear and honest information about our warranty policies. We want you to feel confident and secure in your purchase, knowing that we are committed to providing you with quality eyewear and exceptional customer service.
